SYNERVATION Physical Therapy, PLLC is located in Alplaus, New York. It provides one on one physical therapy services that is tailored to each unique individual. It also offers workshops and group wellness classes that incorporates mind, body and spirit to assist with the healing process, enhance athletic performance and/or injury prevention. It takes an integrated approach by looking at the body as a balance of interconnections on a musculoskeletal and systemic level. To improve the balance of the body will carry over to having decreased pain, increased ability for muscles to activate and better quality of movement. All are important for improved function whether related to sports performance or to accomplish daily activities.
The word SYNERVATION is a composite name based on (A) Synergy and (B) Innervation:
(A) Synergy is the interaction of two or more agents or forces so that their combined effect is greater than the sum of their individual effects.
(B) Innervation, from the word innervate, is to stimulate a nerve, muscle or body part into action.
The name SYNERVATION came from my philosophy that treating the body should promote the interconnected systems to work together to find balance for maximal function with reduced pain and stress on the body.
I am Cindy Leveillee, founder of Synervation Physical Therapy, PLLC. I received my Master's degree in Physical Therapy from Russell Sage College in May of 2000. I have experience working with a wide variety of patients with neurological and orthopedic diagnoses. I have worked in private practice, hospitals, pain management, school settings and an outpatient pediatric clinic. I hold a certifications in Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization (DNS), Selective Functional Movement Assessment (SFMA) and Treatment of Scoliosis According to Principles of the Schroth Method (C1).
It's all connected
The human body is an amazing symphony of interconnections. I look at the body with a holistic approach with appreciation of how various parts affect one another. For instance, pain in a shoulder could be stemming from a problem with the opposite hip. The body’s systems (musculoskeletal, neurological, lymphatic, respiratory, facial and energy systems, to name a few) are all intertwined. Therefore, I think it is important to assess the entire body to identify and address the underlying dysfunction. While integrating this philosophy, I gravitate towards techniques that utilize the body's ability to align and heal itself.
Individual treatment session are one to one treatments that are tailor to the goals of each patient based on findings from the initial evaluation and assessments in addition to addressing immediate needs.
The Schroth Method is a nonsurgical physical therapy treatment for individuals with scoliosis and kyphosis. The method addresses scoliolsis in three dimensions by elongating the trunk, improving imbalances and stabilizing the spine.
The Synervation Movement Assessment is an extensive assessment which intakes history, bio-markers and measurements to monitor changes in a clear and objective way. This assessment can be used as a window into the affect of any lifestyle change on movement and well-being.
Synervation offers 3 progressive workshops that each correlate with optional group classes:
WORKSHOPS
Each workshop provides education, techniques and exercises to take home.
GROUP CLASSES
Each of these group classes may be taken if an individual that has taken a workshop would like to explore further techniques and put them into practice in a group setting which takes advantage of collective connections and intentions. Classes are one hour.
